 Department of Horticulture Udhampur today started the Ultra High Density Apple Plantation Drive at Upper-Mir (Panchari) after Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha launched the UT wide drive.

 Additional District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, Ashok Sharma and  District Development Council Member, Jasvir Singh of Panchari-Moungri area, started the drive in presence of Block Development Council Chariman, Jeevan Lal Sharma; Chief Horticulture Office, Salil Kumar Gupta.

  District Level-SMS (PP), Raivati Raman Sharma explained the farmers of the area about the details of the scheme. He said the scheme will be implemented in all the temperate areas of the District Udhampur. Horticulture Development Officer, Puvinder Gupta, Zone Panchari & other staff members of the Horticulture Department were present.

Additional District Development Commissioner, and Block Development Council Chairman alongwith Chief Horticulture Officer also visited Kultyar area of Zone Panchari where the said drive was also launched. This step will go a long way in enhancing the quality and quantity of Horticulture produce and doubling farmers' income. The farmers were also guided about the Rain-Water Harvesting by constructing Water Harvesting Tanks to store the rain water
